Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)

When More Support Is Needed

The Intensive Outpatient Program at Resilience Recovery Center is designed for individuals who need a higher level of clinical structure than standard outpatient care while continuing to live at home and remain connected to their daily responsibilities.

IOP provides increased accountability, consistency, and therapeutic engagement to help clients stabilize, strengthen coping skills, and reduce relapse risk during critical stages of recovery.

Who Intensive Outpatient Treatment Is For

IOP is appropriate for individuals who are experiencing ongoing cravings, emotional dysregulation, or difficulty maintaining stability with less intensive support. Clients may enter IOP directly following an assessment or step up from Outpatient care when additional structure is needed.

Experiencing ongoing cravings

Emotional dysregulation challenges

Stepping up from Outpatient care

Difficulty maintaining stability with less intensive support

This program is well suited for adults who require frequent therapeutic contact but do not need inpatient or residential treatment.
What to Expect in Our Intensive Outpatient Program

What to Expect in Our Intensive Outpatient Program

Clients in IOP participate in multiple therapeutic groups each week along with regular individual counseling sessions. Treatment is guided by an individualized care plan that is reviewed and adjusted based on progress and clinical needs.

Services in IOP include group therapy and psychoeducation, individual therapy, case management and care coordination, relapse prevention planning, emotional regulation skill development, and coordination with MAT providers when appropriate.

Clinical Focus Areas

The Intensive Outpatient Program focuses on addressing the underlying factors that contribute to substance use and relapse. Core areas of focus include managing cravings and triggers, emotional regulation and distress tolerance, accountability and routine building, communication and relationship skills, co-occurring mental health symptoms, and preparation for long-term recovery.

Evidence-based, trauma-informed approaches are used to help clients build resilience and practical recovery skills.

Benefits of IOP at Resilience Recovery Center

Clients benefit from a higher level of structure without residential care, consistent therapeutic engagement throughout the week, individualized treatment planning, coordinated support services including housing and vocational resources when needed, and a compassionate environment grounded in dignity and accountability.

IOP provides a bridge between intensive treatment and independent recovery, helping clients gain confidence and stability before stepping down to a lower level of care.
